This project will validate and demonstrate the usefulness of PEF methodology as an effective tool for environmental improvement of aquaculture products in an easy and comprehensive way.

Under the guidelines of this general objective, other specific objectives of the project are:

To create an adequate framework to integrate all stakeholders with the aim of implementing the product environmental footprint in aquaculture sector activelyand in cooperation.

To design a standardized data collection protocol for aquaculture sector inventories

O3.

To obtain new representative datasets for the Mediterranean aquaculture sector.

O4.

To develop an integrative evaluation method to facilitate PEF calculation and verification.

O5.

To obtain an updated overview of the improvements strategies with greater environmental impactreduction potential.

O6.

To propose biological or ecological impact categories to complement the PEF evaluation.

O7.

To reduce the overall environmental impact in 10 % by implementing an effective plan of environmental improvement based on the PEF Methodology into three demonstration studies.

To increase social awareness towards sustainable food products

To improve the competitiveness effective communication strategy.

10.

To replicate and transfer the developed solution to the whole European Aquaculture sector.
